What is North Presbyterian Church?
North Presbyterian Church stands at 3105 North 24th Street in Omaha, Nebraska. On July 5, 1908, the Omaha Presbytery announced that the Second and Knox churches were unified as North Presbyterian Church. The North Presbyterian community started building the church in 1910 at a cost of $45,000. F. A. Henninger was the architect. The design follows the Neo-classical Revival style. Its forms drew on several buildings from the nearby 1898 Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition. The building has four colossal limestone Ionic columns. On the south facade, three large round-arched stained glass windows light the sanctuary. A three-week dedication began on February 4, 1912. On April 18, 1954, the Presbytery merged the Hillside and Bethany congregations. They moved into the empty North Church, which got the new name Calvin Memorial Presbyterian Church.
